Foundations in Self Directed Learning in Game Development

SKU: N/A Categories: , Tag:

This is the first in a series of virtual classes on game development. It will be taught in 4 parts. The goal of this class is to help orient students in the field of game development, providing a broad look at the different aspects of game development while also being hands-on and practical, as well as pointing students in the direction of where to look for resources and support for continued learning. We will be focusing on the open source game engine Godot, with particular emphasis on coding. Open to all, no prior experience needed. This is intended as a pre-requisite for more specific classes on the different areas of game development. Along with this class, students will have access to a growing online community for new game development hosted by the Rust Temple to showcase, find support, collaborate and cross-pollinate ideas.

Requirements: A computer with the latest version of Godot Game Engine installed and running.  You can find downloads here

(While Godot can run on fairly low-end computers, if you’ve paid for the class and it doesn’t run, send an email and we can issue a refund)
